Today I learned the harsh lesson of the difference between submitting to AVS and link lists, As this is my first post and I dont want to do the typical "Hi Im New Here" lame post I thought I would offer some help to people doing stupid crap like I did/do (but Im learning!!!)

I had 8 sites bounced back from a list that only excepts one link per day, so that means 8 days worth of work in the toilet.

My descriptions were too long which is ok when submitting to AVS sites, but for Linklists they need to be short sweet and to the point.
i.e
"Blonde takes off underwear sets them on fire, throws them at cat"

As apposed to the AVS:
"Sexy blonde peels off her pretty pink pantie, flicks her bic, and hurls them at her unsuspecting pussy cat"

So please..please be careful with your descriptions and titles..Short and sweet is the order of the day.

Although on your webpage you can go a bit longer with your description..but always keep your title the same.

Hope This Helps, and my apologies to link list owners whom I've ticked off before learning this!!

Welcome to the board! I wouldn't say you have 8 days worth of work in the toilet though. You're just ahead of the game now & have your sites ready to go for the next 8 days worth of submitting.

Like KCat said, you can just resubmit those sites 1 at a time. LL owners won't mind.

Oops I hope I didnt give the impression I was bitching about it. I know it was my fault for my ignorance, I was mostly trying to make sure it doesnt happen to some other hapless clown.

I submit daily so unfortunately digging back for 1 LL would kinda be...I dunno silly. I'm just hoping I don't get banned (like I have on two lists before) for my noobieness.

I'll eventually get into the groove and not have people cringe when they see my submits :)

I guess my question would be was there a lot of LLs that declined you for having too long a description? Something doesnt sound right there - as we all change desc's all the time or write our own descriptions for every free site submitted

So the following description would be too long:

Midget nympho nuns running naked in the woods by grandma's house while chased by the big bad wolf with a boner the size of a redwood tree.

*SUBMITTED* Discreptions have been too long.

"Wolf with Big Boner Chases Chick" is what I've found to work out better

And why, exactly, would you base your conclusions on the advice of a self-described "newbie" (who, granted, has an hilarious turn of phrase) while ignoring comments from experienced LL owners (eg, Linkster, see above).

Write a good description and you will catch the eye of many LL owners. Mister 13, if ONE LL gave you problems, that's no reason to label us all with the same...label.

Maybe you just need to mix it up a bit. Instead of "Blonde takes off underwear sets them on fire, throws them at cat", try "Pigment-deficient female removes support garments, ignites, hurls at feline." We get a lot of repetitive descriptions. This might help.

Firstly, I never blamed link list owners, I blamed myself, which is why the thread is entitled "NEWBIE LEARNS.." not "You Link List Bastards"

Also, I think what I did post was indeed helpful, if it garnered responses from folks (such as yourself) who have said "try xyz".

So from my newbie mistake, I was hoping to keep others from making the same thing.

Just cause youre new doesnt mean you cant help someone else from stepping in the same pile of dog poo that you have.

Hmmm... is "Thanks for starting the thread, because all information in relation to including, but not limited to the replies, was enlightening to me" pc enough then?

Just a quick question, why is it some LL block AVS sites? I happen to submit galleries using them and I was interested in converting them into free sites but as I look around, AVS sponsors are not allowed.

Mostly occured back when AVS systems started putting their own FPA's between the enter page and the content
