I'm sure I'll end up slapping myself on the for head while muttering "Duh"
I overwrote a file that I really don't want to redo
I get the bright Idea to just go to my recycle bin and un delete one of the earlier versions of the file
I can't find my recycle bin the logo is no longer on my desktop
It doesn't show up when I search and the help section just tells me to go to the desk top icon
how do I find my missing recycle bin?
Did you try going to your directory listing? It is usually on the bottom :)
The trash is always in the Dock. You can also do a search for the *nix directory .Trash with show hidden files turned on using the Finder's search.
You can also use the Terminal
cd ~/.Trash
Then type
ls -ln
to show a list of files in the trash.
You can also use the Finder's Go To Folder Menu (Shift Command G)
.Trash
Go
Oops wrong OS…

the recycle bin is also located on the desktop. right-click, auto arrange.|waves|
If you use Norton try looking in the "Norton Protected Recyle Bin" folder - you should spot it easily in windows explorer.
