There's a "big" storm heading toward all of us in the North East - looking at the radar loop, it should be knocking on my door any minute now :D

6-16 inches of snow - big fucking deal - wake me up when there's 7 feet in 24 hours like 2 years ago :D

The storm is supposed to hit us at around noon. You would think it was too cold here to snow too but, here it comes anyway :)

I'm watching one of the morning shows and they showed a cam of New York City's Central Park. It looks cold and desolate, not anyplace that I would ever want to be.

The chill in my house seems to be gone. Guess I better get my fat ass up and turn off the heat before it gets too warm in here.

A friend of mine called me from Manhattan last night freezing her Russian ass off wanting to know if my guest room was finished yet. lol

Speaking of my guest room the tile dude called me yesterday and said that the rest of my tile has arrived and he would be here first thing Monday to start finishing it. Wow this means that by the end of next week my house actually might be completely finished.

Nope, but I do like to make it too warm in the house so that when I get out of the shower it will feel nice and warm. I'll heat the house to about 78°F, then turn off the heat for the day and take a shower.

I also usually turn the shower on with it all the way to hot for about five minutes before I go and start my shower.

Well, it must have gotten really cold last night. I went out to start my truck and it wouldn't. So, I decide to start the car next to it to jump start it...nothing. So, I am now stuck here :)

I would have never thought to put a toilet in the guest room. Cleo, the Diva Designer -- homes designed for functionality. haha

The house looks great! I am sure you are glad that project is almost done, but, the results really look worth the time and effort and pain you put into it.

Shelter???

It has no walls, what does it shelter you from?We rent a big 20' x 30' or 40' tent for each party - usually 2 or 3 a year - so we decided that it'd be cheaper to build a little shelter instead of paying $250-400 to rent a tent. It's really just a roof.

But, oddly enough, there's very little snow under there :D

Leading edge of the storm is over my way now, although the weather folks say we'll get only 5 to 10" out of it (before lake effect kicks in obviously). At least with the cloud cover, the temp is raising a little bit..

In preparation for today's impending snowfall, my body tried to go into hibernation. I just woke up at 11:30. Looks like we're going to bag 10-18". Good. It'll cover up all of my construction debris in the backyard that failed to remove and is now frozen to the ground.

We have gotten a lot of snow in the past for hours. After jump starting my truck for 2 hours, I finally got it running. But snow and 0 degrees is not a good mix for a windshield :)

I'm thinking of lighting some of those fake logs that crackle when they burn in my fireplace. It is so seldom that I can enjoy it without cranking the A/C way down.

Well.. did 1 round of shovelling.. 2 foot drift on the leeward side of my car and the existing pile on the edge of my driveway. -10 or so wind chill, so the only exposed area was my eyes peeking above scarf and below hat..(now thats content!)

Figured I'd try to back my car up a bit so the wind might blow the big drift away for me, but the car only turned over super weak then pretty much died :(
Car batteries freeze below around 8 degrees F, so maybe I'll remove it and bring it inside to warm it up. Then hook it up quick and turn it over. Might work. Might not.

I've gotten like absolutely nothing done in like two days now. I guess I must be like on a mini vacation or something.

I haven't gone clubbing in like you know about a year or something like that. I might even have a drink or two.

Waiting for Luna to get here. She said she would be here in about a hour but she is on Latin time so it will probably be like in two hours or maybe a bit less, she is an early arriving type Latin.

Well, after two days of shovelling, my car is free and the pile of snow is over 6ft tall where I was reaching up and piling it, lol..
Helped dig out my neighbor, who's battery was also frozen stiff, so her son helped jump start mine as well.. very nice recip. |peace|

My wiper fluid is rated to stay anti-frozen up to 20 below zero.. it was fucking frozen of course until I jammed my fingers into and turned it to slush.. |angry|

Well.. I ran my car several miles earlier, then even went and took a quick trip in it during halftime of the first game.. Just went outside to run to the store and the freaking battery was so dead/frozen that it wouldnt turn the engine over even once! Son of a BITCH I'm sick of this shit.. -7 degrees.. damnit!

Hey Robbo, yeah this one was weird, not normal lake effect style at all.. and this god forsaken bitter cold is just the worst.. I like snow, it's the cold like this.. and with my battery completely dead, I just walked a mile round trip to the grocery store... do NOT try this at home, it's dangerous... breathing needles and sucking snot.. nice image eh?

Makes you understand why people just stop to 'rest' and freeze in their tracks! Was very hard to keep my legs moving. But lived to post about it.
