Hello Everybody! I've been away for a couple of weeks and missed the unveiling of the new GG&J design! Looks great!
I finally finished my site and would love some opinions if anyone has a minute..

Great looking site, the only thing I noticed was at 1024x768 res it's left with a large blank area on the right.
I would not even have noticed because I usually use 800x600...

First off your page looks incredible. Great job.
It makes me feel strange being the only personal with anything critical to say, but here goes
The main thing I noticed is the page load time.
On a maxed out dial-up your currently looking at over 90 seconds for the page to load. On my dial-up it took well over 2 minutes to load.
Also you might take a look at the behind the scenes items. It doesn't appear that you have your robots.txt file in place. Also you might want to add your metatags.

Agree with your comments. The ad spaces use a javascript code. I would use the same design but use hardcode. Even it is an adserver running the ads, most have hardcode options.
