My google toolbar is not showing PR. Is there an update going on? Any one hear? Or it's not working right now. Seems they just had a update.

yea...me 2....something is up.....
I really doubt it's an update, altho that would be interesting, and nice, if it happens that way. But, I've never seen an update start with gray bars that last for many hours.
When this happened before, for fewer hours, some weeks back, it was a server problem. That's what I think it is now.
Could be google engineers monkeying with something tho.
The longer it stays grey, the more likely it is that this is the google engineers.
Could be the beginning of trustrank... or something of that sort.

Still no PR showing... gave me a terrible fright. Thought all my precious sites had incurred the dreaded PR 0 penalty!
:D

This would be a very good weekend to work on stuff, it's holiday and all, I am sure net traffic is down a bit, etc. It would also be a very good time to install something new.
PR has been a 3 or 4 year misleading indicator that has sent many people around the bend. If it is gone I will miss it only in passing.

I would agree Alex, except then I think it would only be fair if Google gave us some clear cut way of determining what is considered a bad neighborhood. A Red light Green Ligth if you will.

ledfish, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and links to a duck, then it is likely a duck.

True, however that relys on a definition of what a duck is, because without a clear definition, a seagull could erronously be calleda duck and nobody would be able to tell the difference.

Yep. And They could be a bad neighborhood and not be caught yet, according to the bar.
Dont know if I've ever seen the PR off this long. Any one else?
ronnie
I've never seen the gray this long.
Whch means the engineers are making some changes. I'd bet money on that.
Which probably means something like trustrank.
Which means a whole new environment when the bar goes back on.

For my part, the PR is back with no changes to my sites... same old PR 4 pages... and some freaky results from google on my top search terms since last 3 days now... sometimes it is 1000 visitors an hour and other times 50... I dare say I'm quite confused or maybe it is just my stats program that's acting up.

I got my PR back! All that was lost in the most recent dance is back up again after the blackout.
I know everyone says PR means precious little in the real world, but when it's all you have... :D
(Let's hope it lasts.)
Yesterday all my PRs went up by 1-2 and today it's normal again. Was that an update or something wrong with the PR?
