I use couple different host at the moment.
Paying at least two times less than you per/GB - with one host.
..and couple times more with second host.
Why you ask?
Just a side note.. nice site you have! :)

Dollar per gig is only ONE factor you should take into consideration... Don't let cheap hosts sway you..
Support of your server. Power backup if they loose power. Things like that.
Doesn't matter how cheap your hosting is if your stuff goes down.

Who's spamming to your mind? If you referred to me, I even didn't post the name of the company that hosts me.|angry|
I just want to find out what is the normal price for the host.

That's right, but I want to find the balance of all these factors. I think, that the fastest host on the internet with instant support isn't essential for the galleries or freesites.

Cheeseman: I think one of the moderators changed MickZee's post to a spam icon. I don't think he was calling you a spammer.

If I start my site do I need a dedicated server or shared server?
How much traffic does it take to require a dedicated server?
They are so cheap now, I can use it for other things also.
MY buddy has a dedicated with Mavweb for his backup business and said I can use his for my test site.
He has a 10mbit unmetered bandwith transfer server so I would not get him charged for overage.
To me, there is only one great host and the price is right.
See Cleos sig :)
