.....I finally got me a lap top!

Take a look at my new baby. (http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/pc/pc_cf_prodChassis.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1540787057.1062018286@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccgadcjellekegcgfkceghdgngdgll.0&comm=ST&pfam=Satellite&pmod=P25) She arrives this Friday.

Needless to say, I am as excited as a dancing bananna. |bananna|

No more clearing the cashe, erasing the menu bar and deleting all offline images, cookies and content when I am visiting the inlaws house for vacation.

Plus, I'll be watching MY OWN movies on the airplane.

Life is good.

I sometimes think of switching to a laptop, or as us fruit users call them a Powerbook, but then I think of how much I enjoy working with two 22" CRTs as my desktop.

I figure another few years of being hit with the radiation from these babies and I should no longer need to have a night light in my bathroom to be able to see at night.

Nice looking laptop BTW :)

I don't have a laptop, but my wife has two (one for work, other for entertainment). Last time we were in Thailand, my wife got some evil bug and was sick almost 2 days. We cannot go anywhere, and I didn't wanted to left her alone, so we stayed in hotel room. She slept a lot, and I spent those times listening music, playing solitaire and pinball, and watching DVDs. All this with same laptop. They are cool.

BTW, maybe their chili is good for health as they claim. Second day we ordered a hot chili from room service, and my wife took couple vodkas before good night, and next day she were OK. Of course she ate all the medicine I bought from local drugstore.

Again BTW, she didn't get ill from thai food (no way!). It was a hamburger in Irish pub. Not the meat, but the vegetables. I took a look of those and got them out of my burger. My wife wanted to eat them all. I warned her, she didn't believed me, and had to be sorry at same night.

Yeah, they didn't say, so I have been checking the door (yesterday just in case) every 1/2 hour or so.

With this heat and humidity we've been having, I'm afraid for it to be outside more then 15-20 minutes.

Plus I want to set that fucker up!

Busy people have messy desks.

(And when I say busy, I mean lazy. Just ask my wife.)

Now instead of playing the radio I can pop movies in on the other computer and listen/watch all day...
In the player right now...Blues Brothers. On deck...Fight Club and The Wall.

Why didn't I think of this before?!?!?

Turn your CDs into MP3s and it becomes a jukebox.

Using an old laptop I digitized my whole CD collection and have it hooked into my home stereo system. No more looking for CDs when I want to listen to music. Right now it is a little under 20 gigs of MP3s. Often I leave it on random play, it's like listening to the radio minus commercials. It reports that I have a bit over a week's worth of music playing 24/7 without repeating a song.

Also there is internet radio which can be very good.

Not sure what software PCs use for doing MP3s, but Macs use iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) which Apple says they are going to port to the PC platform before the end of the year.
