Just wanted to praise a text editor I downloaded for free called Textpad (http://www.textpad.com/) .

Optional from We Love Free Porn (http://www.**************.com/) told me about it a long time ago.

It's not often I am impressed enough to buy something which allows you to use for free, but this application has saved me so much time I had to re-pay the writers in some way.

It's got a great spell checker, it does search and replace on multiple files. It makes any language easy to read and edit with colour coding. You can change case at the touch of a button and there's loads of other great features.

The best thing about it is that it's simple to use.

No, I don't work for them.

I've been using TextPad since 1998 when I found out Notepad was adding some unwanted characters to some of my admin files - LOL

Not being a user I cant say if TextPad is good or bad...

..but I can say that UltraEdit (http://www.ultraedit.com/) is comparable or possibly better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one using it. :D

WYSIWYG html editors are nice.... but the amount of extra, and mostly unnecessary, code they add is amazing.

It's like taking a jumbo jet to visit the local shops.

Definitely, I have used Ultra Edit for about 2 years now. Probably the most phenomenal editor I have used, especially now that it has the SFTP support built in. I love the fact you can ftp from to the server, saves a step :)
