View Full Version : It's all Dr Bizzaro's fault, bought a 17" Powerbook.

I just can't stand being trapped at home all the time and then I saw Dr Bizzaro's new laptop and it just pushed me over the edge. :)

Bought the 17" Powerbook (http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index17.html) with extra memory so that I'll have one gig total memory. After shopping around it came to $3008 total.

I know that a few of my accounts will be willing to buy my desktop setup for $1500 so that brings my cost down to $1500.

It supports plugging in a 22" monitor for using as a second monitor so I can keep on working with two monitors, built in 17" and external monitor, just the way I'm used to. Plus it has wireless networking so I can roam around my house or go sit at Borders and surf. Not to mention that Luna has a wireless network and so does my neighbor.

Also if I get a bluetooth cell phone I can use the phone as a modem for when I'm taking a trip or something. Just set the phone next to the laptop and surf, no wires needed.

It isn't going to be here for 5 to 10 days so I'll be like a big kid waiting for Christmas day. :D

Then again with one being a PC and one being a Fruit they may not like each other, I hear that most fruit prefers other fruits. :D

I was playing off of Luna's "me inbetween the fruit" thing...

I was obviously kidding about the days pay.
It's more like 1/2 a day.

I realized that my new laptop would not fit in my old laptop's bag so I had to get a new one. After looking around for something, thought about getting a hard shell type one, I decided on this one from Booq Bags (http://www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=21).

I was looking at them over the weekend..
Mac has a WONDERFUL HUGE SEE THRU monitor I want..and the price just came down to 1799 over the weekend..and they have a pc adapter for it......

Amber I would go for the 20" Display (http://www.apple.com/displays/acd20/). It is a lot cheaper then the 23" and almost as big. Personally I think it has a better picture then the 23" as well.

The viewable area on a LCD is bigger then a CRT so it is hard to compare sizes. Also the Apple 20" and 23" are wide aspect screens unlike that of the CRT monitors.

The Powerbook that I just ordered is also a wide aspect screen and I also plan on plugging in my Apple 22" CRT display when I'm at my office. I love being able to keep my pallets on one screen and work on the other screen. I do that now with my two 22" CRT monitors and actually with the Powerbook's screen being wide aspect I will end up with even more screen real estate then what I have now. :)

As with most things in life bigger is better. :D
