AWStats problem

This is the error that I got:

Error: AWStats database directory defined in config file by 'DirData' parameter (/var/www/html/web) does not exist or is not writable.

Setup ('awstats.conf' file, web server or permissions) may be wrong.

I know for a fact that the folder exists and the permissions are ok. Its linked correctly in the awstats.conf file... any ideas? -shaud
