In regards to submits..how many galleries/images are too many for the current free site structure?

I sometimes get submits with 4 - 6 galleries with 12 - 15 pics each. So that's 48 - 90 images.

I feel the same way. Im even OK with 3 galleries with 10-12 images each. Just seems when there is more than that its like a bit of overkill.

It really depends on the site to me. I've accepted a couple that have 4 galleries.

2-3 galleries, 10-15 pics each is ok in my mind (20-30 pics total). Anything above that is a bit much, but if the site looks nice I will list it.

Since we are on this topic - would the following be too much for a gallery page? (Ignoring link count for right now).

bDok, yes I dont mind the 4 gallery ones either. As long as they are organized.

Sven - as for the hybrid type galleries, I dont see too many come through. I personally dont mind them if they are in the picture galleries with 1 or 2 small vid clips or video gallery with 2-4 preview pics. I can understand many of the LL owners being against them, but I dont separate my submits into 2 cats. for pic and video.

I've never been a big fan of standardizing, as long it it won't really piss off the surfer I'm ok with listing it, even if the guy jacks off, that's ok by me, he'll hopefully remember the LL where he found his happy experience.

Building a free site is different tho, I'd have to have a real good reason to build one that gives away more than 30 pics, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone jacking off to it.

I think most are with you Sheepy - just give enough to want more.

So, I guess the next logical question is - Would you reject someone for say more than 45 or 48 images?

and for the record SG - I've never jacked it to any of your free sites

Naah I wouldn't reject anyone for it, just wonder why they would build that way.

I like hybrid sites/galleries. If more places accepted them I would build them myself and naturally they are welcome at my LL.

The ones I've seen building sites with 50+ pics use only one template so it's a natural reject for that reason.
Wouldn't reject a regular/well known submitter for going ape with content though.

I've had a couple people submit sites with a large amount of pics/galleries, and I've accepted them. I'm just thankful they aren't the norm. I do have a min number of pics for submit, but not a max.

The only time I have considered going above a max of 30 pics is on a gay site, and then never more than 45 in 3 galleries. From nosing around the other sites, 24-30 in 2 galleries is pretty much standard for all the other categories, and that is where I stay on almost all of my sites. AVS Site? Heck yeah... bring them on. Hybrids, cool! If I know you, I am usually pretty receptive to some deviations from the normal FS structure. You have to be able to experiment someplace, right?

I think I've wised up and am going to stay with the 2 gallery system...I figure I'm building 2 free sites when I could have three free sites...that's a pretty big margin...I wouldn't accept more than 3 galleries on my own sites, but as a submitter, I think I'm changing back to 2 galleries

I have to say that I have rejected a couple sites with that very reasoning Greenie. I was like "WTF, this is too many galleries". But that was 6 galleries 20 pics per gallery. I wrote a nice email explaining the rejection. He could've made 3 sites with that content.
