Paul Markham's Auction Site To Fight Acacia
As you may know I've been very vocal and active in fighting Acacia and their patent claims. Today I'm stepping it up.

At the moment there are 11 defendants in court contesting the patent. These people are fighting for us all, even the companies who licensed with Acacia. They are spending their own money so we can carry on doing business as we use to.

Our auction site is to raise money for the defense fund. All the money raised, less the processing fees, will be donated to the fund. The site is now up and running, so we are kicking it off with two of our SPECIAL OFFER sets.

For those who cannot afford to bid there is a $10 set for sale that automatically gives buyers a ticket in the drawer for one of our specials. That will be ready in an hour or so.

So come on in, bid and bid often, you know it's in a good cause.

Will be putting up more soon and hopefully will be having donations from other people to offer. Anyone with anything to donate can ICQ ME HERE all donators get a banner up while they have an item in the auction.

So this is a new site and very much in the planning stage so comments are also welcome.

With the “Test Auction” we ran last week we raised $616.25 and added to it $30 which is 20% from the purchases of those that registered on our site via my “Fight Acacia” threads. So today a check goes in the post for $646.25 not a bad start but I'm sure we can all do better.

If You Are Going To Sell A Product Or Service, Be Constructive


Recently we had a person where the only posts they ever made, were to sell their product.

We allowed this person to do this at least 10 times before writing to them and asking them to please contribute something to the board other than trying to make money. We offered a few options to make this right with us and he refused. I then told him to keep his post to our Products and Services forum.

Yesterday, this person posted yet again trying to sell his product on the General Business Forum and we took action.

I want to make this clear. We have absolutely no problem with selling your product on our boards. We can even help you "for free" if you give us the chance. But, at times, ad something constructive to the community. GreenguyandJim does not exist as an easy free place to spam and spam and spam.

Do it right and as Greenie says, "You will have diamonds the size of Horse Balls" :)
